The ideal candidate will have:
  • Prior experience in liaising with clients and customers regularly via phone calls and emails
  • Key competencies around making pivotal decisions
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be proactive and use initiative
  • Customer focused – with genuine desire to help people
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • High attention to detail, and excellent time management
  • Insurance or claims experience would be preferred but not essential
The role will include, but not limited to: 
  • Manage a portfolio of general insurance claims, with a personal, hands-on approach
  • Make liability decisions
  • Authorise payments within delegated limits
  • Organise efficient claims rehabilitation and technical strategy to support safe early return to work, and mitigate claims cost leakage
  • Participate in weekly claims strategy workshops
  • Coordinate all investigations and legal referrals 
  • Communicate and interact with clients, support agencies and others to monitor and assess the progress of claims, and facilitate settlement
  • Prepare all necessary forms, records and documentation, to include statistical analyses and reports, for all claims assigned, as required by various regulatory agencies.
