MAYDAY are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Compliance Advisor to join an inclusive, leading Insurance department based in Sydney's CBD on a 6 months contract.

This role involves:
  • Partner with a varied team of internal stakeholders and undertake research to identify the laws, regulations, external requirements and internal policies which are impacting the business
  • Assess and evaluate policies and procedures to support the achievement of the identified compliance objectives and recommend improvements to business operations where necessary
  •  Assist with the conduct of investigations into reportable breaches and incidents and provide advice to the business on improvement opportunities
  •  Assist with the development and implementation of a company-wide self-assessment and assurance system
  •  Assist with delivering enterprise compliance training.
  • Develop relationships with management, staff and risk coordinators to influence and foster a compliance culture

Essential Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role 
  • Degree qualified 
  • Strong understanding of the requirements of the Regulators (ASIC, APRA, AUSTRAC, ACCC, OAIC)
  • Previous experience working in compliance within banking, finance or legal
  • Professional and confident when dealing with clients and senior management   
  • Exceptional communication skills, problem solving, analytical and lateral thinking.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
