Job Description

MAYDAY is currently assisting in the recruitment of a progressive Underwriting Assistant/ Manager to work across a Property - Delegated Authority portfolio, this role plays a pivotal role in the business, managing internal and external relationships, reporting and analyzing trends. The opportunity is a fixed term 9-month contract.
This role will include:
  • Manage Coverholder Relationships and the delegated portfolio
  • Investigate current portfolio profitability, anaylse and report back to stakeholder groups
  • Partnering with various stakeholders internally & externally from a portfolio level
  • Analyse and cross reference portfolios, deep dive and question where appropriate
  • Follow relevant procedures and guidelines and ensure compliance with Group and Regional Underwriting Guidelines
  • Report to the Head of International Property, Australia

Experience required:
  • Property Insurance background in an underwriting capacity
  • Analytical background with strong understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Awareness of Lloyds but mainly how delegation of authority processes work from a coverholder and insurer perspective
  • Up to date appreciation of the technical requirements of the role
  • Track record of identifying and analysing problems, identifying & evaluating options, deploying sound decision making skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous eye for identifying inconsistencies or inaccuracies in documentation
