Are you a morning person?

Kelly from the MAYDAY team circulated an interesting article earlier this week on how 12 successful executives make the most of their time by seizing the day pre-sunrise. One of the reasons it resonated so much with us is that many of the MAYDAY gang are early risers… they regularly meet in a group at 5am to do the Coogee to Bondi walk, stroll through Sydney’s Botanical Gardens, work out at the gym together, or some head to work super early to make the most of quiet time before the busy hustle and bustle of the city.

We asked a few of the MAYDAY morning people WHY they love this time of day… read below to find out what they said...

Lynne - Managing Director

"To me the saying, “own the morning, own the day” really rings true… I love waking early (pre-alarm!) and heading outside for a walk along the beach and daily visualisation meditation - it honestly does set me up for a productive, focused and less stressful day.  Something that’s essential to being a regular early riser for me is a good nights’ sleep. Personally, keeping my bedroom a phone and technology-free zone really helped… if you haven’t tried it already it can make a massive difference to getting to sleep and importantly, staying asleep!”

Bianca - Candidate Manager

"I just LOVE waking up early - weekly, a couple of the other team members and I, do the Bondi to Coogee walk. We watch the sunrise and have a little swim. It makes my day longer and I think it is important to have some time for YOU before your workday begins. I recommend it - especially if you spend most of your day in the office."

Kelly - Senior Recruitment Consultant - Permanent Division

"I like being a morning person because its when my brain is working at its optimum, so it’s the perfect time to tackle the day’s most important tasks. Also, being a morning person allows me to work super hard in the morning and not stay extra late at work so I can spend the evening with my loved ones"

Jessica - Recruitment Consultant - Permanent Division

"It’s the best time of the day, I always feel more productive and I’m obsessed with the sunrise!"

Be inspired by this insightful article on how and why 12 top executives thrive in the pre-dawn hours and if you aren’t already, become a morning person yourself… It doesn’t happen overnight but introducing the right habits will certainly set you on the right track!
