“Yes, it’s a challenging time, filled with uncertainty, but the eternal optimist in me shifts focus to the silver lining”

To our valued customers,

What a few weeks it’s been….

We all experience highs and lows in our jobs but March 2020 will go down in the playbook as a true roller coaster of a month.

I wanted to reach out to you directly and let you know what’s happening at MAYDAY and how we’re navigating the changing times.

For the most part, we are business as usual, now fully remote, our MAYDAY physical office has been closed temporarily for the well-being of our people. In saying that, I’ve probably spoken to our teams and had more “face time” with them individually in the last two weeks than I’ve had in months – and it’s been awesome. Amongst all the chaos COVID-19 has caused, the sense of community and team spirit at MAYDAY is stronger than ever and for this, I’m very grateful.

As for the market, some of our clients are extremely busy managing increased workloads and hiring on scale, and others are much quieter, and nervous, as expected. Please know that no matter what your current situation we will be here to support you through those MAYDAY Moments; whether it’s assisting with recruitment or lending an ear if you or someone close has been affected and you just want to talk.

We’re remaining positive about what the next few months hold and the opportunities that will arise. Yes, it’s a challenging time, filled with uncertainty, but the eternal optimist in me shifts focus to the silver lining.

Something I’ve been reminded of in the last week; when you are forced to be still and present, you can be creative again…. We’re thinking of new marketing ideas, new ways to work, new assessment methods and new channels to interact with our candidates and clients…. And then there’s the good old fashioned picking up the phone. I’ve spoken to people in the last fortnight I haven’t connected with in years. And the sentiment for many is the same… it’s a time to innovate, to adapt, to appreciate our loved ones, to reset, and be present; we are all in this together.

More than anything I hope you, and your family and friends are safe and well. I’m looking forward to the day we can all reflect on this time and how we came through it, emerging stronger and more grateful for what we have.

Please reach out to me if you’d like advice on what we’re hearing in the market, or if you just feel like a chat!

Thanks for taking the time to read and take care,

Lynne
