About the Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Underwriting Assistant to join a collaborative and growing underwriting team within a smaller, supportive business based in Brisbane.
The company also operates with a Gold Coast office, and there may be occasional opportunities to work from that location if required. The environment is friendly and close-knit, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, and day-to-day support across the business.
While the local team is compact and highly engaged, there is also a well-established offshore support function that assists with processing and administrative workload, allowing the Brisbane team to focus on higher-value underwriting support and stakeholder interaction.
This role offers a strong platform for long-term career development within a business that continues to expand, with exposure to both local and international stakeholders.

The Role
This position supports the underwriting function through a combination of high-volume processing and underwriting assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support
  • Accurate data entry and documentation management
  • Maintaining organised and compliant records

Underwriting Support
  • Working in line with underwriting guidelines
  • Preparing and issuing quotations
  • Managing renewals
  • Supporting underwriters with day-to-day tasks
  • Liaising with both local and offshore teams
You will work closely with the wider underwriting team and engage regularly with offshore support functions.

Systems & Tools
  • CRM system (primary platform)

Working Environment
  • Office-based role (no work-from-home arrangement)
  • Standard hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm (flexibility where required)
  • Shared phone responsibilities across the team
  • No immediate expectation to manage calls independently

About You
You will bring approximately 1.5–3 years of experience within the insurance industry, ideally from roles such as:
  • Broker Assistant
  • Insurance Administrator/Claims
  • Processing or support-based roles (Within Insurance)

  • Strong understanding of insurance processes
  • Exposure to underwriting guidelines
  • Experience with proposals and policy closures
  • High attention to detail and a process-driven approach

  • Confident working independently
  • Proactive and not reliant on constant supervision
  • Strong organisational and administrative capability
