An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Underwriting Assistant to join a collaborative and growing underwriting team within a smaller, supportive business based in Brisbane.
The company also operates with a Gold Coast office, and there may be occasional opportunities to work from that location if required. The environment is friendly and close-knit, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, and day-to-day support across the business.
While the local team is compact and highly engaged, there is also a well-established offshore support function that assists with processing and administrative workload, allowing the Brisbane team to focus on higher-value underwriting support and stakeholder interaction.

The Role
This position supports the underwriting function through a combination of high-volume processing and underwriting assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support
- Accurate data entry and documentation management
- Maintaining organised and compliant records
Underwriting Support
- Working in line with underwriting guidelines
- Preparing and issuing quotations
- Managing renewals
- Supporting underwriters with day-to-day tasks
- Liaising with both local and offshore teams
Systems & Tools
- CRM system (primary platform)
Working Environment
- Office-based role (no work-from-home arrangement)
- Standard hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm (flexibility where required)
- Shared phone responsibilities across the team
- No immediate expectation to manage calls independently
About You
You will bring approximately 1.5–3 years of experience within the insurance industry, ideally from roles such as:
- Broker Assistant
- Insurance Administrator/Claims
- Processing or support-based roles (Within Insurance)

- Strong understanding of insurance processes
- Exposure to underwriting guidelines
- Experience with proposals and policy closures
- High attention to detail and a process-driven approach
