MAYDAY was founded with a simple belief: recruitment should feel human.
When we opened our doors, we didn’t want to be the biggest agency, but we did want to be the one people remembered for how we made them feel. For showing up. For caring. For doing the right thing, even when it took more time or effort.


What started as three founders around a kitchen table has grown into a national team of specialists across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane all united by one mindset: put people first; the impact is felt far beyond the placement.

Where It All Began.

Back in 2016, we saw a gap in the industry. Too many recruitment experiences felt transactional. Too fast, too impersonal, too focused on numbers, not people.


So we built MAYDAY differently:

That philosophy became known as our signature Care Factor - and it’s now the thread that runs through every part of our business.

2016 – MAYDAY Begins


July 4, MAYDAY Recruitment launched into the Sydney market.

2018 – Welcome MAYDAY Blue


Launched MAYDAY Blue (now MAYDAY Technical).

2018 – Employee Programs


Introduced key programs including our Buddy Program to support onboarding and MAYDAY Awards to recognise excellence.

2018 – Service Additions


From temp to perm – the first permanent division was established.

2018 – Recognition


Financial Review – Fast Starters List in 2018 & 2020.

2020 – Expansion

Expanded capability and services into Government.

2021 – Awards Era

From 2020 – 2023 we received 5 industry awards including RCSA Business Innovation, Excellence in Candidate Care and Outstanding Agency.

2022 – MAYDAY Goes Interstate

Expansion with team Melbourne.

2022 – Supporting Our Growing Team

Introduced key employee programs including 100k Club, Parental Leave Policy & Formal Career Pathways.

2023 – Welcome MAYDAY Healthcare

Launched MAYDAY Healthcare.

2024 – Expansion

Opened official Melbourne office and Sydney moved to a bigger HQ.

2025 – MAYDAY Goes North

Opened QLD office.

2025 – Benefits & Pathways

Expanded career pathways to include Account Director role with additional benefits.

2025 – Welcome MAYDAY Technology
