MAYDAY Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading global insurer to recruit a Compliance Manager for their Australia & New Zealand business.
This is a unique opportunity for a legally qualified compliance professional to join a high-performing team and act as a key technical advisor across the business. Working closely with the Head of Compliance, you'll play an important role in supporting compliance frameworks, breach reporting obligations, regulatory interpretation and business-wide compliance initiatives.

The team has strong operational compliance capability and is looking for someone who can provide guidance on legislation, regulatory obligations and complex compliance matters, while supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team.

Main responsibilities include:
- Providing compliance advice and guidance to stakeholders across the business
- Assessing compliance incidents and determining breach reporting obligations
- Managing remediation and rectification activities following incidents and breaches
- Supporting regulatory notifications and engagement with regulators
- Interpreting legislation and regulatory requirements and translating these into practical business outcomes
- Supporting ongoing enhancements to the compliance framework
- Preparing compliance reporting for senior leadership and governance forums
- Assisting with compliance risk assessments and control reviews
- Monitoring regulatory developments and supporting change implementation
- Partnering with Compliance, Legal, Risk and Audit teams on key initiatives
The ideal candidate:
- Degree qualified in Law
- Previous experience within Compliance, Legal, Regulatory or Compliance Advisory roles
- Strong understanding of the Corporations Act and breach reporting obligations
- Experience interpreting legislation and advising stakeholders on regulatory requirements
- Exposure to compliance incidents, investigations, remediation and breach management
- Background within General Insurance highly regarded
- Insurance law, litigation or regulatory legal experience highly regarded
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence, educate and provide technical guidance to others
- Experience operating within a regulated financial services environment
