Are you an experienced insurance claims professional looking to move into loss adjusting, or an existing desktop loss adjuster seeking your next opportunity?
MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a well-established specialist insurance services business to recruit a Desktop Loss Adjuster. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team where you'll manage a diverse portfolio of property claims while developing your technical expertise in loss adjusting.
This role is Brisbane based, however applications from experienced candidates located interstate who are seeking a remote opportunity are encouraged.
The Opportunity
Working closely with experienced loss adjusters and leadership, you will be responsible for progressing property claims from initial assessment through to settlement. You'll investigate claims, review policy coverage, liaise with key stakeholders and prepare high-quality reports, ensuring exceptional service is delivered throughout the claims process.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of desktop property insurance claims from allocation through to settlement

Review policy coverage, repair quotations, invoices, photographs and supporting documentation

Investigate claim circumstances, determine cause of loss and assess quantum

Liaise with insurers, brokers, insureds, builders, contractors and suppliers

Coordinate supplier appointments and gather information to progress claims efficiently

Prepare detailed reports, correspondence and claim updates

Maintain accurate claim records within the claims management system

Monitor claim progress and proactively manage outstanding actions

Ensure service standards, compliance obligations and client expectations are consistently achieved

Support complex claims and catastrophe events when required
About You
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

Previous experience in insurance claims, loss adjusting or property claims

Strong understanding of general insurance principles and policy interpretation

Excellent written communication and report writing skills

Outstanding stakeholder management and customer service skills

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

High attention to detail and sound analytical skills

A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
