The Role
As a Funeral Arranger / Conductor, you will work closely with families to understand their wishes, coordinate arrangements and ensure funeral services are delivered seamlessly and respectfully.
You will be responsible for both the arrangement and conduct of funeral services, providing a calm and professional presence throughout the process and working closely with families, celebrants, clergy, internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Meeting with families to understand their wishes and arrange personalised funeral services
- Coordinating all aspects of funeral arrangements, ensuring every detail is managed with care
- Conducting and overseeing funeral services with professionalism, composure and respect
- Providing an exceptional level of service to families throughout their experience
- Liaising with celebrants, clergy, cemeteries, crematoria and other key stakeholders
- Supporting the preparation and coordination of services, including logistics and transportation
- Ensuring services run smoothly and to the highest professional standards
- Maintaining accurate records and completing administrative requirements
- Supporting day-to-day operations across the Brighton and Dandenong locations as required
- Following all organisational policies, procedures, quality and safety standards
- Contributing positively to a respectful, collaborative and supportive team environment

You will be comfortable working with families experiencing grief and be able to remain calm, composed and attentive to detail in sensitive circumstances.
Essential:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing, service-focused or people-focused environment
- Current unrestricted driver's licence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability
- A calm, mature and professional approach
- Ability to work sensitively and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Confidence using technology, systems and administrative platforms
- Comfortable working in environments involving death, grief and deceased persons
- Physically and psychologically capable of meeting the inherent requirements of the role, including manual handling
- Previous experience within the funeral services industry
- Experience in hospitality, luxury retail, healthcare, aged care, community services or another highly customer-focused environment
- Experience coordinating events, ceremonies or complex service arrangements
