Mayday  is partnering with a respected organisation within the funeral services sector to recruit a  Funeral Conductor / Arranger  in Bernie, TAS. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, highly organised, and service-driven, with the ability to support families through sensitive and meaningful moments while coordinating professional funeral services.

About the Role

As a Funeral Arranger / Conductor, you will work closely with families to arrange and coordinate funeral services that honour their wishes and celebrate the lives of their loved ones. You will also oversee and conduct funeral services, ensuring every detail is delivered with professionalism, dignity and care.

This role combines customer service, administration, coordination and community engagement, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a people-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with families to arrange funeral services with empathy, sensitivity and professionalism
  • Coordinate all aspects of funeral planning, including liaising with service providers and suppliers
  • Conduct and oversee funeral services, ensuring arrangements are carried out seamlessly
  • Complete funeral documentation and administrative requirements accurately and efficiently
  • Support day-to-day operational activities, including funeral attendance, transfers and vehicle operation
  • Provide exceptional customer service to families, clients and stakeholders
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures and safety standards
  • Represent the organisation professionally within the local community

About You

  • A current unrestricted driver's licence and reliable transport
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A compassionate, calm and professional approach
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to work respectfully with people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds
  • Comfort working in an environment involving death, grief and deceased persons
  • The physical and emotional resilience required to perform the inherent duties of the role

Desirable

  • Experience in hospitality, retail, community services, healthcare, customer service or another people-focused industry
  • Experience in a service-driven environment
  • An understanding of the funeral industry or a willingness to learn
  • Confidence handling sensitive conversations and supporting people through challenging circumstances
