Mayday Recruitment is partnering with a highly respected organisation in the funeral services industry to find a Funeral Conductor / Arranger to join their Plympton team.
This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, creating calm in difficult situations, and delivering exceptional service.
You don't necessarily need previous funeral industry experience. What matters most is your ability to connect with people, listen, stay composed under pressure and treat every family with care and respect. Full training and support will be provided.
What makes this role different?
This is more than a customer service role. You'll be there for people during some of the most significant moments of their lives, helping families feel supported and ensuring their loved one's farewell is handled with dignity.
You'll build meaningful relationships with families, work alongside a supportive local team and develop specialist skills that can provide a genuinely rewarding long-term career.
If you've worked in hospitality, events, aged care, community services, healthcare, retail, customer service or another people-focused environment, your experience could translate incredibly well.
What you'll be doing
-
Meeting with families and listening carefully to their wishes
-
Helping families plan and coordinate meaningful funeral services
-
Conducting funeral services with professionalism, warmth and respect
-
Being a calm and reassuring presence for families throughout the process
-
Coordinating the many details behind each service to ensure everything runs smoothly
-
Working closely with colleagues, clergy, celebrants and other service providers
-
Supporting the day-to-day operations of the Tewantin location
-
Maintaining high standards of care, presentation, safety and compliance
-
Being part of a team that takes pride in delivering an exceptional experience for every family
We're looking for someone who...
Most importantly, you're a good people person.
You may be someone who:
-
Has a natural ability to make people feel comfortable and at ease
-
Is compassionate, emotionally mature and genuinely caring
-
Communicates clearly and listens before responding
-
Can remain calm and professional in emotionally challenging situations
-
Is highly organised and takes pride in getting the details right
-
Is comfortable working around deceased persons and supporting grieving families
-
Can adapt to different families, cultures, beliefs and individual needs
-
Is confident working both independently and as part of a team
-
Holds a current unrestricted driver's licence
Funeral industry experience is welcome, but not essential. If you have the right attitude and transferable experience, you'll be supported with structured training to learn the industry.
Why you'll love it
-
Meaningful work where you can genuinely make a difference
-
Full training and ongoing support – you don't need to know the funeral industry
-
A stable opportunity within an essential services industry
-
A supportive and respectful local team
-
A career where your people skills and life experience really matter
-
The opportunity to develop specialist skills and build a rewarding long-term career
Could this be you?
Perhaps you've spent years working in hospitality and know how to look after people when emotions are high.
Perhaps you come from aged care or community services and are naturally compassionate.
Perhaps you've worked in events and are exceptional at coordinating details while staying calm when things change.
Or perhaps you're simply looking for work that feels more meaningful.
