Funeral Conductor / Arranger
MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a respected organisation within the funeral services sector to recruit a Funeral Conductor / Arranger based in Sunshine, Victoria.

This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, highly organised, and service-driven, with the ability to support families through sensitive and meaningful moments while coordinating and conducting professional funeral services.

The Role
As a Funeral Conductor / Arranger, you will work closely with families and the local team to arrange and conduct dignified funeral services. You will play a key role in ensuring services are delivered seamlessly while providing empathetic, professional support to families during their time of need across Melbourne's western suburbs.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Meeting with families to arrange and coordinate funeral services in line with their wishes.
  • Conducting and overseeing funeral services with professionalism and respect.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to families, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting day-to-day operations at the Sunshine location.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Assisting with preparation, coordination, and service delivery as required.
  • Contributing to a collaborative and respectful team environment.
  • Supporting health, safety, and wellbeing standards in the workplace.
About You
Essential:
  • Experience in a service-focused environment or the ability to quickly learn.
  • Current unrestricted driver's licence.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across a range of systems and platforms.
  • Comfortable working in circumstances involving death, grief, and deceased persons.
  • Strong communication skills with a calm, empathetic approach.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Sensitivity and respect for diverse values, beliefs, and cultural practices.
  • Physically and psychologically fit to manage manual handling, stress, and the inherent requirements of the role.
Desirable:
  • Exposure to or understanding of the funeral services industry, or a genuine willingness to learn.
  • Background in hospitality, retail, community services, healthcare, aged care, or another people-focused industry.
