MAYDAY Recruitment is proud to partner with one of Australia's most respected funeral service providers to appoint an experienced Funeral Services Manager to lead teams across two well-established funeral service brands in Hobart.

This is a significant leadership opportunity for an accomplished funeral professional who is passionate about service excellence, developing people and creating a consistent, family-centred experience across multiple locations.

Working in close partnership with the Operations Manager, you will provide leadership to the Funeral Arranger/Conductors and Administration Arrangers, ensuring every family receives compassionate, seamless care while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor and develop Funeral Arranger/Conductors and Administration Arrangers across two Hobart locations.
  • Champion exceptional standards of family care and service delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful and high-performing team culture.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and ongoing professional development for team members.
  • Support funeral arranging and conducting during periods of increased demand.
  • Partner closely with operational leadership to ensure a seamless end-to-end service.
  • Drive consistency, accountability and continuous improvement across both locations.
  • Represent the organisation professionally within the local community and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
About You

You are an experienced funeral professional who leads with empathy, authenticity and professionalism. You understand that outstanding service begins with engaged, well-supported teams and you take pride in developing others while maintaining the highest standards of care.

To be successful, you will bring:
  • Experience within the funeral industry, with a strong background in funeral arranging and conducting.
  • Previous people leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor and inspire experienced teams.
  • Ideally a minimum of five years' industry experience.
  • The confidence to step into operational duties when required while balancing leadership responsibilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a calm, measured and compassionate approach.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for families and maintaining the highest professional standards.
  • Flexibility to support the business outside standard operating hours when required.
