Working as part of a supportive team, you will play an important role in ensuring cremation services are delivered with dignity, professionalism and care while supporting families during significant life moments.
About the Role
As a General Hand/ Crematorium Operator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the crematorium, management of ashes, site presentation and supporting funeral services. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards of care and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor cremation equipment, ensuring all cremations are conducted safely, respectfully and in accordance with operational procedures.
- Manage the accurate processing, recording, storage and release of ashes, maintaining strict attention to detail and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate daily cremation schedules and support funeral services, working closely with funeral directors and onsite teams.
- Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot operational issues and liaise with service technicians regarding maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional crematorium environment, including equipment, facilities and surrounding grounds.
- General groundskeeping duties as required
About You

- Brings experience from grounds keeping, park maintenance, operations, facilities, logistics, funeral services, healthcare, aged care, hospitality or customer service environments (highly regarded but not essential).
- Demonstrates professionalism, compassion and discretion in sensitive situations.
