About the Role
Our client, a purpose-driven organisation in the not-for-profit sector, is seeking a People & Culture Business Partner to provide strategic HR support across their operations. This is a 9-month fixed term role, to start ASAP and initially contracted until end of February 2027.

You will work closely with stakeholders to build effective business partner relationships, advise on complex people matters, and support workforce planning, performance management, employee engagement, and recruitment. This is a unique opportunity to shape HR practices in a growing, values-driven organisation.

The organisation offers hybrid work options, typically 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. The head office is based north of the CBD but the organisation has hubs around Melbourne that they would be happy for you to work in as well.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with leadership and managers to deliver practical HR solutions and advice
  • Lead workplace investigations, manage employee relations matters, and support industrial relations compliance
  • Drive performance management, workforce planning, and recruitment initiatives
  • Support onboarding, orientation, and staff development programs
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and systems
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaged workplace aligned with organisational values
About You
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR or demonstrated experience in a generalist HR role
  • Broad experience in employee relations, workplace investigations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and workforce planning
  • Strong problem-solving, coaching, and influencing skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation
  • Experience in the community, health, or not-for-profit sectors is highly desirable
