Main responsibilities include:
- Underwrite new business, renewals and endorsements within delegated authority
- Apply underwriting guidelines to achieve sustainable portfolio outcomes
- Deliver high service standards to broker partners, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Support senior underwriters with referrals and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Analyse portfolio performance metrics to inform underwriting decisions
- Contribute to underwriting and distribution strategy execution
- Participate in product or portfolio-related project work as required
- Maintain strong compliance and documentation standards
The ideal candidate:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ insurance experience in underwriting, broking or in general or commercial insurance
- Strong technical underwriting capability and product knowledge
- Exposure to agricultural risks highly regarded
- AQF Certificate IV or Diploma in General Insurance (or working towards)
- Confident working within delegated authority levels
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to guide decisions
- Excellent broker relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, solutions-focused and committed to continuous improvement
- Collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in contributing to team success
