Our client is a globally recognised organisation delivering large-scale commercial and infrastructure projects across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Contracts Manager to join a well-established regional Legal team. This role will primarily support Australian projects, with exposure across the wider APAC region.
In this position, you will act as a key advisor to senior stakeholders, leading contract strategy and providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal guidance across major projects. You will play a critical role in managing risk, shaping contract outcomes, and supporting the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex construction and commercial contracts
- Provide expert advice on a range of agreements including consultancy, sub-consultancy, joint ventures, and framework agreements
- Partner with project and commercial teams to oversee contract governance, administration, and approvals
- Deliver clear, commercially focused legal advice to senior leaders and stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate legal, contractual, and regulatory risks
- Collaborate across legal, commercial, and operational teams to support successful project delivery
- Drive continuous improvement of contract templates, frameworks, and processes
- Qualified lawyer with approximately 2–5 years’ post-qualification experience
- Experience in private practice and/or in-house environments
- Background in commercial and/or construction law (highly regarded)
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commercial thinking and problem-solving ability
