NSW Government - Learning & Recruitment Officer
MAYDAY Recruitment are excited to be partnering with a NSW Government Department to bring on board a Learning and Recruitment Officer.
Support the learning and development function for staff across Museums of History NSW enabling opportunities for development and maintaining related records. Provide administrative support for recruitment and selection processes across the agency ensuring an effective, cohesive and capable workforce.
The details:
Duration: Until end of May 2026 (Subject to change)
Start Date: Commencing January (Can be flexible)
Day Rate: $60ph + Super
Location: Sydney CBD AND
Kingswood (Successful candidate must be flexible on attending both sites but can be flexible on how often)
Flexibility: Hybrid flexibility, 3 days in the office (Flexible options available)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, full time hours (35 hour week)
The role
-
Implement the day-to-day requirements of learning and development, including booking and managing group learning and development as identified in the Learning and Development Plan, through ad-hoc requests and PDPs.

Collate data on learning and development from performance development plans (PDPs) to support the development of an annual learning calendar to identify opportunities for compliance and professional development group training sessions.

Support recruitment and staff employment process by preparing, distributing and filing contract extensions, end of employment and change of hour letters.

Review talent pool records and communicate with relevant candidates maintaining connections for future employment opportunities and ensuring candidate care.

Maintain learning and development attendance records in the agency’s learning management system to enable accurate reporting to allow for future planning, assurance compliance training requirements are met and tracking of budget spend.

Maintain records for probationary periods and secondments, providing data to the Organisational Development Coordinator as required for progress processes and contract reviews.

Collaborate with the Organisational Development Coordinator to coordinate the matching process for the mentoring and shadowing programs to facilitate rewarding development opportunities.

Communicate and share relevant information with relevant stakeholders regarding the learning and development and recruitment to provide support and nurture a welcoming environment.
About you!

Proven experience in a government role ideally recruitment admin/ coordination preferred

Proven experience working in a learning and development support role
