The Role:
- Co-develop, implement, and drive the organisation’s commitment to WHS policies, standards and safe work practices ,focused on risk mitigation and education of WHS obligations, policies and requirements.
- Provide high level advice in the management of hazard identification, operational risk assessments, safe work method statements, environment and health & safety procedures.
- Ensure that safety plans, procedures and programs are compliant for the effective management of incident reporting, investigations and root cause analysis
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities to improve health and safety initiatives, by keeping updated on industry developments and regulations and providing expert advice to senior management and contractors to inform decision making and promote a high performance WHS culture.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing WHS policies, standards, and safe work practices with a strong focus on risk mitigation and compliance.
- Proven capability in hazard identification, establishing systems and processes within venue environments, and delivering practical risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and the ability to provide high-level, practical advice to support operational compliance.
- Experience managing incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis to drive preventative outcomes.
- Local or state government experience preferred but not essential.
