About the Company

Our client, a leading national healthcare organisation, is seeking a Payroll Compliance Analyst to join their collaborative and high-performing payroll team. This is an exciting permanent opportunity to play a key role in payroll governance and compliance while gaining exposure to a major HRIS implementation and a range of ongoing transformation projects.

Reporting into the Payroll Governance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting payroll compliance initiatives, reviewing payroll processes and controls and partnering with key stakeholders to ensure legislative, award and enterprise agreement compliance across a large and complex workforce.

This role offers a unique blend of operational payroll expertise and project-based work, making it ideal for someone looking to broaden their experience beyond traditional payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyse payroll processes, controls, and compliance frameworks.
  • Support payroll audits, remediation activities, and compliance initiatives.
  • Interpret relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and legislative requirements.
  • Assist with payroll reporting, data analysis, and risk identification.
  • Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, and Project teams to drive process improvements.
  • Contribute to the implementation of a new HRIS and payroll system.
  • Support testing, system validation, and process documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and governance across the payroll function.
Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience in Payroll Compliance, Payroll Analyst, or a similar role in a large, fast paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, superannuation and Fair Work requirements.
  • Experience analysing payroll data and identifying compliance risks.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Exposure to payroll projects, system implementations, or transformation initiatives will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
