About the Role
As a Payroll Officer, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing across a large, complex workforce. Working within a collaborative environment, you’ll support both line managers and employees by delivering high-quality payroll services and resolving queries efficiently.
You’ll also play a key role in identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance the overall employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and legislation
- Manage pay cycles, including terminations, reconciliations, overpayments, and reporting
- Create and review off-cycle and ad hoc payments
- Investigate and resolve Tier 2 payroll queries within SLA timeframes
- Monitor and action Payroll Control Centre (PCC) alerts
- Maintain strict data integrity and confidentiality across all systems
- Support system updates, UAT testing, and process improvements
- Collaborate with internal teams to support business-as-usual operations and projects
- Provide responsive, professional support to stakeholders across the business
- Payroll experience, ideally within a high-volume environment is required
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, enterprise agreements, and compliance requirements
- Experience using SAP & SuccessFactors is a must!
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex payroll processes
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Tech-savvy and adaptable, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
