We’re partnering with a leading national organisation to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer to join their high-performing team. This role plays a critical part in delivering accurate, timely payroll services while supporting a strong culture of service excellence.

About the Role

As a Payroll Officer, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing across a large, complex workforce. Working within a collaborative environment, you’ll support both line managers and employees by delivering high-quality payroll services and resolving queries efficiently.
You’ll also play a key role in identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance the overall employee experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process end-to-end payroll activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and legislation
  • Manage pay cycles, including terminations, reconciliations, overpayments, and reporting
  • Create and review off-cycle and ad hoc payments
  • Investigate and resolve Tier 2 payroll queries within SLA timeframes
  • Monitor and action Payroll Control Centre (PCC) alerts
  • Maintain strict data integrity and confidentiality across all systems
  • Support system updates, UAT testing, and process improvements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support business-as-usual operations and projects
  • Provide responsive, professional support to stakeholders across the business
About You
  • Payroll experience, ideally within a high-volume environment is required
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, enterprise agreements, and compliance requirements
  • Experience using SAP & SuccessFactors is a must!
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex payroll processes
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
