$120K + Super

Lead a team within a large and complex healthcare payroll environment, supporting a diverse workforce across multiple sites.

About the Company

Our client, a leading national healthcare organisation, is seeking an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join their established payroll function. This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys leading people and working within a complex, high-volume environment.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you'll be responsible for leading a team of five and overseeing payroll operations across a large and diverse workforce. You'll provide guidance and support on complex payroll matters while ensuring the team consistently delivers accurate, timely and compliant payroll.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and support a team of five payroll professionals.
  • Oversee high-volume end-to-end payroll across a large and complex workforce.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on complex payroll queries and issues.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in line with legislation, Awards and EBAs.
  • Review payroll results, reconciliations and exception reporting.
  • Manage escalated payroll queries and work with stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Monitor payroll processes, deadlines and controls to ensure consistent delivery.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a Payroll Team Leader or senior payroll leadership role.
  • Strong end-to-end payroll experience within a medium to large organisation.
  • Experience leading, mentoring or developing a payroll team.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, EBAs and superannuation.
  • Experience working within a high-volume and complex payroll environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage escalated payroll matters.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Experience with UKG, SAP/Chris21 is highly desirable.
