MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a leading global insurance and financial services organisation undergoing a significant enterprise-wide transformation. This role supports a $100M+ transformation program , providing critical financial oversight, governance, and insight to enable effective decision-making.
As the Project Finance Specialist , you will play a central role in managing budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and executive reporting, while partnering closely with Program Directors, PMO, delivery teams, and finance stakeholders. This is a high-profile role with strong exposure to senior leadership and complex transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end financial management for a complex transformation program
- Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and scenario models, including weekly forecasting during ramp-up/down phases
- Produce rolling 12-18 month forecasts with scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Own the monthly finance cycle: actuals validation, accruals, prepayments, reclasses, and cut-off accuracy
- Deliver detailed variance analysis by workstream, vendor, resource type, and capex/opex
- Partner with accounting teams on capitalisation, amortisation, impairment, and compliance
- Support business case development, including NPV, IRR, payback, and sensitivity analysis
- Produce executive-ready finance dashboards, reports, and commentary
- Act as a trusted advisor to Program Directors and Workstream Leads
- Drive process improvements and uplift project finance capability across the program
Skills & Experience
- 3–5+ years’ experience in project/program finance or FP&A, supporting large transformation programs
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling, including scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Strong understanding of capex/opex, cost allocation, accruals, and capitalisation rules
- Experience working cross-functionally with PMO, delivery teams, and accounting
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable, executive-level insights
- Resilient, confident, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
