MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a leading national organisation to recruit a Project Lead to oversee the delivery of a high-profile community engagement program.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Traditional Owners, community leaders and key stakeholders across Australia. The role will play an important part in supporting and celebrating First Nations-led organisations and initiatives, requiring someone who can build trusted relationships, engage respectfully with diverse communities and navigate culturally sensitive environments with confidence and care.

Role Details

๐Ÿ“ Sydney - Hybrid model

๐Ÿ’ฐ $104,000–$109,500 + Super

๐Ÿ“… Initial contract opportunity

โœˆ Interstate travel required, including regional and remote communities

๐Ÿš€ Immediate start available

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of a national community engagement program

• Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations and stakeholders

• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, consultations and site visits across Australia

• Manage project plans, timelines, budgets and risk management activities

• Organise travel, accommodation and logistics for project-related activities

• Collaborate with internal teams, community representatives and external partners

• Provide regular project updates and reporting to senior leadership

Ideal Candidate

• 5–8 years' experience in project management or senior project coordination

• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and stakeholders

• Strong cultural competency, with an understanding of the importance of respectful engagement and relationship building

• Ability to acknowledge, respect and adapt your approach to different communities, cultures and perspectives

• Strong stakeholder management and community engagement skills

• Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex projects

• Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills

• Experience managing multiple stakeholders across geographically dispersed locations
