MAYDAY Recruitment is seeking a Property Claims Consultant to join a specialist Insurtech company, operating within the Australian general insurance sector.

This is a rare opportunity to join a business in a true build phase, where you won’t just manage claims - you’ll help shape how the claims function is designed, structured, and scaled. You’ll work closely with leadership and Senior Claims Consultants to deliver high-quality claims outcomes while also contributing to team development, process design, and operational strategy.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Manage a portfolio of home and residential property claims.
  • Assess coverage, liability and quantum in line with policy wording, legislation and delegated authority
  • Set, monitor and review reserves across the lifecycle of claims
  • Identify recovery, contribution and subrogation opportunities
  • Make or recommend settlement decisions within authority, escalating where appropriate
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of claims frameworks, processes and authority structures
  • Support reporting and insights on claims trends, performance and emerging risks
  • Build strong working relationships with MGA clients, capacity
  • Ensure compliance with AFSL obligations, the General Insurance Code of Practice, and ASIC RG 271 requirements
  • Maintain high standards of documentation, file integrity and regulatory compliance

The ideal candidate:

  • 3 plus years of property claims end to end experience.
  • Solid understanding of Australian claims regulation (AFSL, IDR/EDR, AFCA, Code of Practice)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including client-facing experience
  • with a focus on cost, outcomes and risk management
  • Comfortable working in a growing business where structure and processes are evolving
  • Exposure to TPA, MGA or delegated authority environments highly regarded
