Mayday is partnering with a respected organisation within the funeral services sector to recruit a Senior Funeral Consultant based in Geelong. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, highly organised, and service-driven, with the ability to support families through sensitive and meaningful moments while coordinating and delivering professional funeral services.


The Role

As a Senior Funeral Consultant, you will work closely with families and the local team to arrange and conduct dignified funeral services. You will play a key role in ensuring services run smoothly while providing empathetic, professional support to families during their time of need.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Meeting with families to arrange and coordinate funeral services in line with their wishes
  • Conducting and overseeing funeral services with professionalism and respect
  • Providing exceptional customer service to families, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting day-to-day operations at the Geelong location
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and quality standards
  • Assisting with preparation, coordination, and service delivery as required
  • Contributing to a collaborative and respectful team environment
  • Supporting health, safety, and wellbeing standards in the workplace
  • Must be open to participating in a 1 in 6 weekend on-call roster

About You

Essential:
  • Experience in a service-focused environment or ability to quickly learn
  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence
  • Comfortable working in circumstances involving death, grief, and deceased persons
  • Strong communication skills with a calm, empathetic approach
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Sensitivity and respect for diverse values, beliefs, and cultural practices
  • Physically and psychologically fit to manage manual handling, stress, and inherent role requirements
  • Willingness to participate in a 1 in 6 weekend on-call roster
Desirable:
  • Exposure to or understanding of the funeral services industry, or willingness to learn
  • Background in hospitality, retail, community services, or other people-focused industries
