The Role
- Manage and support payroll queries and pay discrepancies, acting as a trusted subject matter expert across the wider business to ensure compliance, education and clear communication across stakeholders
- Assist with payroll process audits, including payroll tax reviews, providing process improvement guidance and managing enquiries from a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- Review and improve existing payroll processes, identifying opportunities for automation, stronger SLAs and more efficient cross-functional workflows
- Support end-to-end BAU payroll processing across a complex multi-entity environment, including interpretation of enterprise agreements and awards
- Partner with internal teams to support payroll remediation initiatives and continuous improvement projects across the payroll function
About You
- Proven experience in a senior payroll position, including exposure to payroll remediation and process improvement initiatives
- Strong expertise managing complex payrolls across multiple entities, awards and enterprise agreements
- Sound knowledge of payroll tax processes, with confidence liaising with external authorities across Australia and New Zealand
- Demonstrated project leadership experience, with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes
- Adaptable and systems-savvy, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate new software platforms
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and advise across all levels of the business
- Experience delivering successful pay remediation outcomes within complex environments
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to perform effectively within a fast-moving and deadline-driven environment
- Experience identifying and implementing operational process improvements will be highly regarded
